This was another outstanding week for Estes Park XC's summer training! Both coaches would like to send a special "Thank You" to Coach Bodin for covering this past week. From here on forward, Coach Harris, Coach Stafford OR the both of us will be at ALL summer training's. It goes without saying, but we'd like to reiterate that each one of you is showing your TRUE dedication to this team and also both individual & team goals. We are extremely proud of you. LET'S KEEP THIS MOMENTUM UP and keep logging you daily/weekly mileage!! EPXC rolls into Week # 3 with some awesome running news and venues, so please read carefully below:   EPXC Team Liaison:   Coach Harris had mentioned in the Summer Training Parent Meeting this past May, however, we are looking for a team liaison to represent EPXC not only at the Bobcat Booster meetings but other responsibilities that would include:   - attending all BACers meetings, - assisting with Color Run race day duties, - locker decorating for each meet, - and other duties discussed with the coaches before the season begins.   If you are interested, could you please send an email to both Coach Harris and Coach Stafford. Fall Sports Physicals: Every athlete for each year they participate in any EPHS sport, needs a sports physical on file. It is better to do it now than waiting to the first week of school to try to cram everything in. Please make every effort to get this done ASAP and turn it in to Coach Harris or the front office. Upcoming Week Schedule: Monday - O.Y.O (On Your Own) run. Please coordinate amongst your teammates to get out for some easy miles. **EPXC Team Captains Applicants**, this is an opportunity to show your leadership; get your teammates out! SEND text messages, snapchat, Insta, or whatever you do to coordinate with each other, LOL. Tuesday - Stanley Run @ 5:30PM (meet at Steamers Cafe). Choose from 3, 4, 5 or 6 low-key/easy effort miles AND stick around afterwards for a FREE delicious pasta dinner served by the Stanley staff. Wednesday – East Portal Trailhead (Wind River/Glacier Gorge Loop) @ 6:30AM. EPXC will be meeting right outside the East Portal Campground. This is easy to get to...just go towards the YMCA, go past it till the road dead ends. If you are not sure of how to get there, please refer to EPXC’s trailhead directions HERE ...

The Estes Park Cross Country team had one of the best turnouts this past Wednesday for summer training as far back as Coach Harris and Coach Stafford have been with this program! Both coaches could not be more proud of this dedicated group of individuals who appear to have made the commitment to better themselves and this team. There is no doubt in either of the coaches minds that if this trend continues, EPXC will make a HUGE impact at League, Regional, and potentially, the State Meet! Keep up the great work. **Please note that this upcoming week, both Coach Harris and Coach Stafford will be out of town (Monday thru Friday).** However, Coach Bodin (EPMS XC Coach) will be there on Wednesday, and potentially, Thursday to lead those runs. [He will be taking attendance :-) ] Here what EPXC has on tap for this upcoming week. Please read carefully below as each week changes: Upcoming Week Schedule: Monday - O.Y.O (On Your Own) run. Please coordinate amongst your teammates to get out for some easy miles. **EPXC Team Captains Applicants**, this is an opportunity to show your leadership; get your teammates out! Tuesday - Stanley Run @ 5:30PM (meet at Steamers Cafe). Choose from 3, 4, 5 or 6 low-key/easy effort miles AND stick around afterwards for a FREE delicious pasta dinner served by the Stanley staff. EPXC Senior runners will be in charge. Wednesday – Cub Lake Trail @ 6:30AM. EPXC will be meeting at the Cub Lake Trailhead (4.8miles round-trip) inside RMNP; note there will be no entrance fee as we'll be inside the park before 7AM. The run to Cub Lake begins from the Moraine Park area. To reach the trailhead from Bear Lake Road through the Beaver Meadows entrance, follow Moraine Park Road for a half-mile to an unmarked junction - just before reaching the campground. At the junction, turn left and drive roughly 1.2 miles to the Cub Lake Trailhead. If you are not sure of how to get there, please refer to EPXC’s trailhead directions HERE ...

WE’VE MADE IT!! Estes Park Cross Country is a couple of days away from the ‘official’ start of summer training next, Tuesday, June 5th . With that said, please expect a weekly email from either Coach Harris or Coach Stafford regarding important information for the upcoming week. Please read carefully through this email: Fall Sports Physicals: Every athlete for each year they participate in any EPHS sport, needs a sports physical on file. It is better to do it now than waiting to the first week of school to try to cram everything in. Please make every effort to get this done ASAP and turn it in to Coach Harris or the front office. Mileage Tracking: We would also like to remind everyone to start tracking/recording your summer mileage (whether with OR without the team) as this is a criteria/consideration for EPXC's team camp in August. You can use a Garmin watch, the MapMyRun app, or some other device to track mileage. Please let us know if you have any questions on tracking mileage. Upcoming Week Schedule: Monday - O.Y.O (On Your Own) run. Please coordinate amongst your teammates to get out for some easy miles. **EPXC Team Captains Applicants**, this is an opportunity to show your leadership; get your teammates out! Tuesday (FIRST OFFICAL DAY OF SUMMER TRAINING) - Stanley Run @ 5:30PM (meet at Steamers Cafe). First off, YAY, summer is finally here and school is out! From here till the end of the cross country season, either Coach Harris or Coach Stafford will send a weekly email to you all with updates on a variety of things related to Estes Park Cross Country. We are coming close to the end of the school year and cross country is going to be ramping up pretty quickly. The following news has tons of important information for the rest of May and the month of June. Please make note of the following: First Day of Summer Training: The first 'official' day of EPXC's Summer Training is on Tuesday, June 5 at 5:30PM at the Stanley Hotel. For June, July and till school starts in August, will have organized team runs every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can find each training run on EPXC's team calendar HERE ...

Our last regular season home game will be February 8 against University High School.  We will have Senior Night that evening at 7pm.  Please make plans to attend. Tia Ginter has already made several arrangements.   Feel free to contact her if you would like to help with planning. That weekend we will also join with nearly 4000 coaches across the country in Coaches Powering Forward, an effort to increase autism awareness and acceptance.  Coaches Powering Forward started in 2014 when NCAA basketball coaches Pat Skerry and Tom Herrion made a simple request - wear the Autism Speaks pin during your February game.  Learn more about their story here. ...
